# Paranoid man
Shakes in the chemist-ah
Mid-30s
At the height of his powers
Puts head down when girls pass in street

# You
I do not like your tone
It has whingeing, ephemeral aspects

# By gad! Verily!

This could go on all day, and we're only doing one album!

# Time of the Volponians
Time of the wolverines

Yr not wrong, Waspy. Or Boxy. Lyrically, it's a child's treasure chest of wondrous delights, innit.

# Sometime in the mid-90s
I saw the Fall in Edinburgh, they were only on for about 15 minutes before Smith stomped off because his mic wasn't turned up high enough. End of gig.
I ended up outside with a small group of people arguing with the tour manager - my arguments were entirely made up of Fall lyrics (although I was very very drunk and was probably making far less good a job of it than I remember!)

Meanwhile, my mate had crawled under the stage and ended up out back sharing a spliff with the band, Smith included.

# strangely (what else?) he mentions tone again on this new one (Greenway) on Ersatz GB
I decided to visit their room, where they had a pile of chairs piled behind the door
their tone was snotty and offensive
so I called them, people like that really get on my nerves
to relax I called my cat

# His 'autobiography' is ace; one of the funniest books I've ever read.
And certainly the least informative.
I was a prat to buy it in hardback the day it came out, though - it only takes an evening to read.

# I didn't know.
I like the song-by-song commentary. It's like 'Revolution In The Head', only not like 'Revolution In The Head'.
