All stainless steels with the exception of the austenitic group are strongly attracted to a magnet. These spoons are non-austenitic stainless as can be seen in the short film above.

We use a lot of 304 and 316 stainless in boats and I never realised there were so many types...*Hands over Capt Pedant cape and underpants to Fresh Water Vole and walks away head bowed*
