I'll pop this down here too
In about of insomnia I decided to see if it's possible to do anything with the apps on google chrome.
It is, but it's slow and clumsy, took me 2 Fecking hours!

Yeah, I was a bit (very) tipsy when I posted it,

Now calm down, or it comes back as a new thread in 2 hours!

I used nothing but the apps on google chrome (some thing called aviate, feather or bird)
So you do something, it thinks, uploads, downloads, shows you.
I thought cloud computing was a good thing, this has proved to me that we still don't have the speeds to cope with it, I'm on 30 down 3 up here and it was still painfully slow whenever doing anything complicated.
100mbit each way and it might be usable, But with google selling these new chrome books with mainly cloud computing and aps with 3g connections, I should imagine they are not very good for anything other than browsing.
