The idea that one coil of the helix dna is from your mother and the other from your father?
Total tosh. One side of the DNA is nonsense, only one side is read. If this diagram was accurate you'd be an identical genetic copy of one of your parents. Chromosomes in gamete cells do split in two, but the dna within them isn't.
