I've spoken to people from youtube and they seem to agree thats its ridiculous but can't do anything about itregarding those other guys I couldn't say, but if they american then they are covered by their own fair use copyright law and if they are very successful they probably have the backing of production companies that can deal directly with youtube. As usual with this business its not what you know but who you pay.

two are australian, one with over 300 restrictions on 4 videos for music use.
It could be an idea to pal up to the fat aussie barstard on there as he has a lot of contacts in youtubes us HQ (and seems to get people partnered at the drop of an email)
