# Corrr
That middle one's... vivid! Didn't he do Yes album covers as well? Not sure I'd like to take a walk around his head...

# My mistake -
Turns out the middle one was by Melvyn Grant. It's amazing that video games published for £10-15 back in the early 90s would have one or two months spent on their cover art, but nowadays the boxes of games that sell for £40+ look like they've been worked on for one or two hours if that!

# I remember being a nipper in WH Smith
and seeing a giant box of Shadow of the Beast 2 (I think it was a special edition with a T-shirt), about 4 times as big as the games around it, a real jaw-dropping moment.
I take your point about modern games, usually it's just the main character with the title stamped across him, just plain laziness, I suppose...
I recall when the NME reviewed albums in the 90s they used to get a cartoonist to caricature the group... now they just plant a photo of the group in there... sigh...

# Closest we get to a big fuss around video games now is the latest Call Of Warfare packaged in a landmine-shaped DVD tin with a limited edition plush legless child
Bah, nothing's as good as it was in my day, etc
