# that's about as far as I got with any of the "games" I tried to program as a kid

character animations, an environment, enough for a test event loop - but I'd usually run into hassles with lag or collision detection and give up

# i'm reminded of a review i once read
critiquing tomb raiders idea that struggling to jump between platforms as a game dynamic was ever fun. however i'd like to play the above game.

# 3D platformers are the worst
especially trying to do eight-way blind jumps on a D-pad, never did get past level four of Pitfall! 3D

(before my PS1 died I was collecting every game voiced by Bruce Campbell)

# I made a bunch of games in world builder for the mac
"talk to bappie" was my crowning achievement, a game where you talk to Simon Baptist, a kid in my grade that I didn't like.

In our school we didn't beat kids up, we wrote derogatory computer games about them.

# I did finish one game in World Builder, as I may have mentioned before

all of the puzzles were red herrings and the only way to complete the game was to kill yourself

# My dad used to get me the best X-mas presents ever.
Once it was even a pachinko machine: hours of joy.
My step dad would think of a reason to throw them away inside of half a year. About the pachinko: he reassured me that he hadn't tossed it at the dump . . . he'd left it sitting next to the pit so if anyone wanted it they could have it.
Yeah I had some good times as a kid, very few of them involving adults.
