never understood why they don't re-introduce bottle deposits hereI remember deposits on Corona lemonade as a kid and even Irn-Bu glass bottles in the 90's. Every organisation seems to bend over backwards to show how environmentally friendly they are but this idea is repeatedly ignored.

They were doing deposits on Barr's until at least the early 2000sPity they seem to have stopped doing it. Deposits on cans in particular can be really high on the continent, and there are a hell of a lot fewer cans lying around as a result.
