I guess I just feel disheartened that everyone else seems to have started much sooner.But this is very true, and it's something I've wanted to do for a while now.

i don't think *everyone else* has started sooner..significant misconception.. but i think your generation has a whole internet/social media load of other stuff competing against you and for your attention, which didn't exist 20 years ago..

Yeah...I do know there's some brilliant artists out there who started much later than 20, so I guess all is not lost.
I'll have to ask people in the know, see if they can give me any advice on where to start; I'm thinking of doing something similar to French house/electro, so at least I've got some idea of what I want to do.
