Depends on how long you've been out of it and what type you preferI'm very much a FPS, single-player-campaign player and like to run games on a high end PC.
My favourites are things like Half Life, Halo, Far Cry, Call of Duty etc. - they never get old. Not seen too many recent games that I like :(
Portal and Portal 2 are excellent problem solving games.

I'm also a FPS-type.The Mrs still loves Sinic the Hedgehog...
A few other frinds have heartily recommended a PS3, but to wait until we move back to Britain on the whole regionalisation bit.
