I have been getting BIG TIME 90s nostalgia these last few months
Been listening to everything from Pulp to Massive Attack

It was a time when bands with guitars were actually allowed in the top 10...
I've always preferred Pulp's 'This Is Hardcore' era to their britpop height - and all of Massive Attack is gooood :)
I've had a Pumpkins reawakening recently and good ol' Wedding Present...

I'm not really too bothered about bands having guitars
In fact, speaking of Smashing Pumpkins, my favourite album of theirs is the electronica-tinged Adore.

Mellon Collie is a very close 2nd (and Siamese Dream is a very close 3rd)
In fact I possibly like Mellon Collie a little more, I just listen to Adore more these days. Plus Ava Adore is definitley my favourite Pumpkins song.

Ooh, and Perfect is ace too
(I only really know the singles from Adore but I recall the last 17 second track being quite moving despite it's shortness)

Best non-single tracks on Adore
are Daphne Descends (which I think would have made a better second single than Perfect) and For Martha, which is really beautiful.

*fires up Youtube*
while I'm here, Age of Innocence from Machina would've been an excellent single and Home from Machina II is the definiton of 'soaring'*
*though not officially

Check out "Behold! The Night Mare" as well
I'll have to check out Machina a bit more. I only know the singles off that.

I'd say Siamese Dream for the last two 'summer evening' songs
I wish Corgan wouldn't go around calling himself the Smashing Pumpkins now - though ironically the Wedding Present have been going around as just Gedge for years and I have no problem with that... I AM AN INDIE HYPOCRITE.
