The Klezmatics are generally (and rightly IMO) considered the best Klezmer bandbut there's loads of gold to be tapped in the genre. I've got hours worth of it on mp3.

Thanks for the recommendationI'm frantically downloading all the klezmer I can find in order to find what is worth buying.

Then you know Frank London is the trumpeter with Klezmatics, right?I saw the Klezmatics in Seattle a while back, they were on a Hanukkah tour (doing their Woody Guthrie songs as well as some crazy Freilechs! )
BTW, one of my tubas was previously owned by a member of the Berkeley Klezmorim (one of the first klez revival bands.)

Had not heard of them before - thanks!How about the New Orleans Klezmer All-Stars ? Their original drummer was Funk legend Mean Willie Green, now is Stanton Moore from Galactic on drums, also Ben Ellman on sax. Link is to a short documentary.
