# I enjoyed it for what it was, but a friend who loves Star Trek way more than me fucking despises it.
He maintains it almost entirely obliterates the characters/universe that the original show(s) spent decades creating.
He has a point.
But I still enjoyed it

Peoples love of the orignal was based on their liking of each of the charecters (No mater how 2 dimessional they were) and their interactions with each other,and you should not get different actors to try and recreate those...
It's a bit like remaking dads army, there's only one Willson,Mainwaring, Jones and Pike ect....
