indeedCGI folks seem to clash with realism in an annoying way.
The designers come up with some nice sketches, then whilst being 3D-ified, they just go nuts with the detail.
Realistic hair, fur, lighting and skin detail on cartoony designs lead to some creepy characters.
I loved Cloudy with a chance of meatballs for daring to try something different and go mental with the cartoony-ness.
