if it's a new picture, post it in a new threadif you have created several pictures that you want to post at once, post them as replies to your first image.
The only times people get annoyed is if the new thread is started with a repost of an old picture, or if you keep posting new threads and don't let anyone else have a go - although when it's quiet, people are happy to see the board move so go for it.
It sounds complicated and mental but you soon get a feel for it :)
