hey fnord,
i have a question about your domo darko & Amelie videos. where did you get the footage?

The Domo-kun things I'd gotten some off this page
www.doebbe.com/domo-kun/ and when I decided to do it went and downloaded all the others.
With Amelie I wanted avi files too, so I downloaded an avi version of the film (several times before I got one that would work in my editing software)

woo, thanks.
I'm mucking about with premier. what did you use to compress your files?
edit: just the standard premier stuff, or did you use something additional, like Virtaul Dub?

Premiere disowned me and wouldn't load so I used Vegas Video for both of them
and ever since. I used divx4 compression on the avi's and normal wmv realmedia type compression for the others.

the domo vids came at 320x240 so I stuck with that all the way through
Amelie I brought down to that size (the rm version size) fairly arbitrarily, just something reasonably small to make the end thing not too big. Plus it scales up alright the flash movie was made from a wmv of it at a similar size by a friendly board member and i've made that bigger in the page and it looks watchable for quite a lot less filesize (about 1/3 of what it was)

domo videos
can be googled for... or go straight here: www.doebbe.com/domo-kun/index.html for cut-up bits, and links to Drew's Domokun site with a huge download.
