yay! I'm a moron!
although to be fair I credit the scriptwriters and directors with his success more than just him as an actor

Land of the Lost was OK.
But nothing compared to... you know...
"SPACESHIP!"
"SPACESHIP!"
"SPACESHIP! SPACESHIP! SPACESHIP!"

thought LotL was awful, even with Anna Friel as a distraction
Stepbrothers, Anchorman, Taladega nights and Elf (at Christmas). Comedy gold

You're clearly doing it all wrong.
Elf and Anchorman I can watch, but they don't exactly have me in stitches.
I found just one minute of trailer for Taledega Nights excruciating.

Will Ferrell's gift and curse
is that he commits without reservation or ego to whatever role he's playing. In Stranger Than Fiction he was utterly amazing, in a league of his own. In some of his comedies he's hilarious. And in other, stupid stuff he makes me projectile vomit.
Let this be a lesson to you all. Will Ferrell can be used for good or for evil.
