Lucky enough to have just got back from Venice. It was beautiful, but never quite as beautiful - or as much like Venice - as his paintings.

Was quite surprised in the evening when water started bubbling out of the drains in St Mark's square. Ended up about 2 foot deep in some places, a combination of wind direction and spring tides. The place really is a bit fucked in terms of sinking/rising sea levels. In short: don't get a big lease on a ground floor flat.
