i also found out today that Paul 'crocodile dundee' hogan worked as a rigger on the Sydney Harbour bridge
and had to talk people out of jumping off it, a skill apparently he drew upon for t'movie.

There are standards that they have to comply to, to ensure they're not leaving toxic glue on the surface of the fruit, and so that if accidentally eaten they will do a minimal amount of harm but they're not actually edible, and you could choke to death on them.
Basically, they're edible in the same way that ordinary paper is edible, and the glue they use in primary schools is drinkable.
