Everyone loves free stuff--but then nothing is ever FREE. Socialists are down with that, as long as it's someone else picking up the tab.

And if it isn't free why are you saying it is free.
In the example of free food giveaways that cost is offset by the retailer, it's not like you're having to pay for it in taxes, so to the customer it really is free.

Bonus confusion, most KFC (stores per million people) is eaten in Australia, America is 10th

As I said above, fried chicken is an issue only because of the Bernie Sanders/Col. Sanders imagery. Some of my best friends are fried chickens.
