Les Maîtres du temps (Time Masters) is good.I saw it on UK TV a couple of times in the late '80s/early '90s. Nominally a kids film, but with some pretty disturbing stuff in there for younger viewers.
I seem to recall not liking Gandahar that much, but should give it another go (I think a René Laloux triple-bill at the weekend is in order, depending on the weather).

Saw it at a film festival knowing nothing about it.I was pleasantly surprised by how melancholy it was.
