I have sat with this window on the back of my screen all day. I typed help around 11am. I typed the other stuff just now. I seem to have executed 5 nops at some point.

is "no operation". It is present on pretty much all CPU's. It does... nothing! (well, except use up some cycles).

Your PC probably performs around 1000 million cycles every second. I have performed 5 cycles all day. They didn't do anything either.
