# norwegian/swedish use the word lek(k)e for playing
when we were kids we used to lek at football(or whatever). apparently we were invaded by vikings.

keep an eye out for the fantastic "The Adventure of English" by Melvin Bragg - now repeating on ITV in the afternoon on Saturday or Sunday.
It's great and told me all about that very thing.

i was actually tempted to go back to uni and do a linguistics course, then i got stuck in corporate hell and never did. maybe when i win the lottery.

I did my project on the irish use of 'I'm after' meaning I've just done (instead of how you use it in english, meaning I want to).

Fascinating eh? It involved talking to Tomsk's permanently stoned and monosyllabic housemate.
