Icloured each bit seperately. Highlight a face, then colour it - highlight the hair, then colour it and so on.
Eventually I had a picture that was completely red - then I clicked on each bit and messed around with the colour balance until it looked like skin, hair, or whatever.
It took ages, but with several cans and Promenade by The Divine Comedy playing merrily in the background, it's a nice way of wasting a day.
