# they are closing
msn chat, but msn groups, hotmail, msn messenger etc are all staying open. When they close msn chat, they'll also start blocking out 3rd party msn messenger clients.

# i can't imagine they'd close hotmail
think of the money they must make selling the addresses off

# I guess
this my not be M$'s fault, but I've always been amused by the fact that 40 spam messages arrived in my hotmail account before the 'welcome to hotmail' message arrived.

# I'm waiting to find out.
I think they said something about there being a need for an agreement (whatever that means) between MS and companies like Trillian. Not sure if that means they want to start charging them or if if it's less of an issue than I think it might be. As a linux user, I'm probably going to be blocked from msn messenger completely, but I'm still hopeful that they're just handling this really badly...

# trillian pisses me off nowadays, it never updates the contact list correctly
if i delete old contacts, then restart trillian, they come back. even if i delete the contacts in msn messenger (at work), trillians "handy" cache means it adds em all again.
