it could just be your connection timing out., 'm assuming you're on dial upsince you're running 2000 try loggin on as a different user. It will use a different cache then.
Also when you deleted your temppry internet files did you do it manually or via the borouser? you should do it by the boruser and choose to delete all offfline content.
