# if i was a microsoft manuel i would do this
trouble shoot
#1. check all the connections
#2. make sure you have an Isp
#3. If you are still experiencing problems delete everything on your c:/ drive and start over
#4. if the problem persists contact tech support at www.microsoft.com
#5. hide in your closet an chant "I want out" 100 times then go to #6
#6. open the closet door
#7. shut the door again
#8. repeat from #5 until your sane again

# I.E 6 (i think)
and windows 2000 professional...

# Ok, then I agree with 3 chickens.
Completely shut down, then reboot (don't just do a restart). If it's still not working I may be able to suggest something else. I've come across this before.

# Clear your browser cache.
(, Thu 25 Sep 2003, 5:13, archived)
# how do i do that?
(, Thu 25 Sep 2003, 5:19, archived)
#
Click Tools
Internet Options
then in the Temporary Internet Files section,
click Delete Files
(, Thu 25 Sep 2003, 5:23, archived)
# oh, is that it?
I do that regularly. it still aint workin...
(, Thu 25 Sep 2003, 5:25, archived)
# You haven't
gone over your monthly limit or something, have you? It sounds like your browser is timing out. That could be net lag or something dodgy at your ISP. One of the cable ISPs in Aust cuts you down to 28k if you go over your monthly gig limit.

How are other web pages? Take a look at a couple of good fast-loading pages like ananova or google.
(, Thu 25 Sep 2003, 5:35, archived)
# i dont know.
I'm on freeserve. Im pretty sure i didnt have a monthly limit or anything...

and its takin a fuckin age to load google...
(, Thu 25 Sep 2003, 5:39, archived)
# incidentally,
all the pages on freeserve load perfectly, all the pics and text and everything. Justs everywhere else...
(, Thu 25 Sep 2003, 5:44, archived)
# the problem is with your isp
they are having trouble connecting you to other sites.
nothing you can do.
it will work for all freeserve hosted sites.
I had the same problem with my isp a few weeks back. it could also be dns but i doubt it.
click on this link and see if it loads quicker then google

(, Thu 25 Sep 2003, 5:54, archived)
# no.

(, Thu 25 Sep 2003, 5:57, archived)

# Because
the Sydney IT job market sucks :(

I did notice a couple of IT support roles on Seek today though, KW. You troll thru Seek?
(, Thu 25 Sep 2003, 6:08, archived)
# yeah i even wrote a
vba module for outlook that applies for them automatically and puts the information inot excel.
I apply for 3-5 jobs a day (weekday) and am registered with over 18 agencies.

the it market in oz sucks espeically when you have a very borad range of skills like me but nothing veyr specific

# Tell me about it :(
I was a Lotus Notes contractor for 8 years getting paid to do what I was good at, not learn. So I'm really good on the daily tasks but not much specialist knowledge. My job is looking really shaky at the moment too which is a real shit. Might have to take up cab driving again :(

Edit: That reminds me, email me your CV. I have someone I want to send it to. No promises but he was saying something about needing a programmer.

# you need to delete yout temp internet files.
and restart since you've been looking at porn.
:0)

(yes you have)
(, Thu 25 Sep 2003, 5:12, archived)
# yes I know I have.
not being able to see images on b3ta, I can handle, but dammit, when I cant get to see my favourite anally raped incest mature granny porn, then i have problems.
(, Thu 25 Sep 2003, 5:15, archived)
# you know...thats the exact opposite with me
(, Thu 25 Sep 2003, 5:17, archived)
# it could just be your connection timing out., 'm assuming you're on dial up
since you're running 2000 try loggin on as a different user. It will use a different cache then.
Also when you deleted your temppry internet files did you do it manually or via the borouser? you should do it by the boruser and choose to delete all offfline content.
also scandisk. (not defrag)
(, Thu 25 Sep 2003, 5:22, archived)
# yeah, i clicked delete all offline content
it doesnt seem to be doin anything.

how do I empty the cache?
(, Thu 25 Sep 2003, 5:23, archived)
# try closing all the browsers you have open then deleting the cache....
(, Thu 25 Sep 2003, 5:31, archived)
