# OK then.
I used to run a pub in Warrington called the Barleymow. It's a very old tudor building with all the creaks and groans associated with it. There was also a perpetual draught from the loft the entire time I was there, despite many attempts to fix it. All the while this was accompanied by the usual stereos turning themselves on and off, clothes moving around etc. Eventually he builders took a whole section of floor out, and discovered documents and clothing belonging to someone who had once hidden in the standard-for-the-period priest hole. I moved out shortly after, and apparently the new occupants have never noted anything strange. Apparently the 'haunting' is quite well documented. I put it down to shoddy loft insulation personally.

# You used to run the Barleymow?
I've drunk there. And helped throw my mate out when he got rowdy.

# I used to run a pub.
Then I drank all the profits and I am a ghost of my former self through the ravages of alcohol!

# very haunted pub
i too used to run a pub called the whittington in, near kidderminster , the pub was built in 1310 by dick wittingtons great grandfather. charles 2nd stayed there on his escape from the battle of worcester and also lady jane grey lived there as a child. the pub has several priest holes in various places, where the persecuted jesuit priests would hide.
i saw many many strange events whilst i lived there, a cavalier appears around the cellar and bar area , lights and taps would turn on and off randomly. also the ghost of lady jane grey is said to haunt the 1st floor ( where i lived). one night i was awoken to the sound of what seemed like about 3-6 children running outside my room laughing and giggling. being the only one in the place and having no children you could say i shat myself somewhat ( not all the way though, maybe i touched cloth!! :) )
the sound of horses can sometimes be heard too by the main entrance and a several monks have been seen & heard on the top floor.
not a nice place to live believe me.
