Not really ghosts...
I used to lay in bed at night, in that kind of semi-sleeping/awake state, and swear I'd see things floating around the room. Just everyday objects like my shoe, or a hair brush or something like that. This was while lodging in a rather old house. I just blamed it on the half-asleep state and the fact that I was probably addicted to Pepsi whilst at college.
I come from a backward Suffolk town and there's always plenty of talk of ghosts and stuff on the local back roads (Barnby Bends) and even a pub named after the (obligatory) headless horseman that rides round that way.
I think the legend of Black Shuck (the black dog thing) comes from round our way too, with scratches on the door of a church in Southwold said to be from when someone hid in the church to escape it. Seeing any kind of black dog on the beach while out playing as a lad used to give me the shits big time.
Then again, Most Haunted still gives me the willies ... if you know what I mean!
