i spent 10 hours yesterdaysetting up computers and printers for a school where the default font is set to comic sans... i nearly cried several times.

That's becauseit's so light-hearted and fun. 'Dear Mr and Mrs so-and-so, your child is being expelled for murdering another pupil, sincerely headteacher' is so much easier to swallow in jaunty typefaces...

we're a bit far down thepage here, but comic sans is used as default in schools because it's the best font for kids to read, and even better for kids with dyslexia and/or learning disabilities.
