My ex-flatmate has a masters degree (MRes) in something to do with magnetsHe once made a really bloody strong magnet, but it flew out of the magnet making machine and stuck to a metal beam in the ceiling of the lab.

Rock.These things will lift at least 35 pounds each for the medium ones, the spherical jobbies hold together strong enough to make a bracelet apparently, and i'm not sure of the capabilities of the monster one. hang on a mo, i'll go see if the invoice has arrived, and i'll link to the ones i got.
