I just like Debian since it's slightly familiar, and uses very little resources. Just has proftpd and samba on it.

but my shitty wee web server doesn`t like downtime (cos I shout at it), so I just picked a distro I could have up and running and serving in an hour* (apart from having to build drivers for the ADSL modem!)

* most of this time is spent installing, cos it`s a piece of shit PC that ROCKED back in ... 1996!
