# Do you know anyone in the industry?
You should get the name of a lawyer and have him/her advise you.
(, Tue 13 Jan 2004, 6:57, archived)
# Well, I don't know anyone
But for some reason the idea of getting a lawyer in and stuff worries me. Maybe it's the fact i'd be paying them money.
(, Tue 13 Jan 2004, 6:59, archived)
# You should probably get used to the idea
of lawyers if you're going to be successful in anything. It's the best money you'll ever spend if the thing ends up going Scooby Doo.

edit: you're in London?

# Yeah...
It sounds all really heavy and stuff. Especially when you're a gamine young artiste who just wants to do groovy things.

Definitely maybe get onto Mr Rathergood; also perhaps a quick visit to something like a Citizens' Advice Bureau will do wonders. Or sometimes you can arrange for a free preliminary visit to a lawyer type? Good ones actually know the law...

Another option that's less violent might be talk to senior lecturer types at Uni / design schools. They like to bang on and protect the yoof. Helped me a treat this one time...

# Sorry
Money is my worst subject. But someone around here ought to know.

I think Tart Monkey works in the industry, and of course Joel from Rathergood, and weebl.

thanks for that.

# Hooooooooly cow,
That's a toughie. Are they professional, or just a berk? Be veeerrry careful. You could end up doing the donkey work for a few dollars an hour, while someone nicks off with Stick Figure Mania and becomes Trey Parker II.

Call a lawyer. I hear they have some spare in the U.S.
