scare you?
noooooooo!
Bagpuss, O Bagpuss
Dear saggy old cat-puss
Wake up and look at this thing that I bring.
Wake up, be bright,
Be golden and light,
O Bagpuss, hear what I sing!
...you can't be SCARED of Bagpuss, he's too lovely and nice! And cuddly and yawny... I loved Bagpuss.

I second that
Bagpuss scared the shit out of me. I always associated it with my great-grandma's place, which smelled of wee - it had the same sepia-tinted aura to it. Plus my great-grandmother went bonkers and started slitting her hubby's throat with a straight razor and had to be carted off by the men in white coats.
