It sort of revolved aroundGetting on a log or swing or roundabout, or PE equipment - basically anywhere that wasn't on the ground, and you couldn't be tagged then.
I presume that there must have been some reason to go on the ground, but I can't remember that far back - perhaps it was just the thrill of risking being tagged!

yeahyou had to constantly switch from object to object, and if you got tagged whilst running you were it
