it was my first attempt at playing with a gui...the source code for the mandlebrot generator was written, admittedly in java, but in german. (ie german variables, etc). it took some time to get my head around it enough to dress it up in a gui, and it still has occasional issues with re drawing. did you see the "known issues" bit in the readme?
