don't go giving us mid-atlantic-ers a bad pronunciation name. I always say 'bee-ta'.
and besides, 'bay-tans' just sounds much weirder than 'bee-tans'

I know "bee-ta" is correct, but I just can't reconcile it with "beta" as in "beta carotine" or "beta testing"
