Import them
into flash.
Select how many fames a second you want, set the canvas size to the same size as the imported video and export as a movie to gif.
At least thats how I do it.

I went from avi into imageready
the output qulity beats flash hands down

Yeah but you end up with a 100x75 pixel gif then thats 1.75 Meg.
Anyway I dont have Image Ready :-(

yeh, but that's cos it was 24 fps
256 colour 100% dither 0 lossy. This sounds like a challenge... let's see what I can get it down to.

Do you have a choice of how many frames a second you want to import when you import it into Image Ready?
