Li-ions recharge completely in about 1 1/2 hours
but will get a usable recharge in 45 mins. Minimal loss of charge capacity over time. Long life during use. Holds charge for ages when unused...
And yes, Canons rule. I've got a Canon 10D. It's one of the most expensive pieces of kit I ever bought, and I swear it's been worth every damn cent.

also Li-Ions are able to be smaller
which can allow for a smaller camera... like my Powershot S100

Powershots are great.
I used a little A20 before, low end of the range but a great camera for its size and price.

i love my S100
it's old and sucks at night but i don't think there is another camera on the market that could withstand what this one has been through
