Smacking hasn't been banned.
Just leaving a red mark/bruising your kid is now listed as a common offence.
However, it doesn't rule out causing even more painful chastisement without leaving a mark.
Pulling children's hair out, whacking with a cold wet towel, rapping the kid on the head with a sharp blow via the knuckles, spraying water with chilli oil into the child's eyes...
And so on.
