to proclaim 'I am a thief' in public?

# i'm not saying i downloaded it
simply that it is possible to download software from kazaa.

# sorry ... wasn't aimed at you
just at the general "software theft isn't really theft" crew

it's a regular rant

# I steal software.
So what?

# Downloading software...
isn't the same as regular theft, as they haven't lost a sale over it. A lot of people who download Photoshop don't have the £600 to buy a legal version, so even if it wasn't availible online they wouldn't have bought a copy anyway.

(posted small to avoid clogging up most excellent picture's thread with a counter-rant)

# That's just shit.
You're passing the buck, not taking responsibility for your theft.

You're right, it's not the same as 'regular theft'. It's intelectual theft which is theft all the same. Don't tell me that nobody would be hurt if *everyone* downloaded PhotoShop.

It pisses me off to hear that excuse.

I've pirated Photoshop, but at least I take ownership of the fact that I'm stealing.

I do however, draw the line at giving out my home address in response to this post :)

# As much as I love to play "download the software",
that's a nonsense argument. I can't afford a Porsche, i'm never going to buy one, so I'll just go and take one, shall I?

(thinks: ooooh, actually, there's an idea...)

(thinks again: oooh, actually, how about if i put down this beer and go to bed instead?)
