# that's
what i'm worried about!
what are you doing to your site? are you adding more stuff to it, or just re-doing the interface?

# I'm
just redoing the interface - but I'm trying to make it a bit more dynamic and random ('cos galleries of pictures can get a bit tedious). I just haven't done the random bit yet...

# if you put it up in a couple days
it can be laucned on 01102002 which might please some nerds. (Looks in mirror)

# indeed
and are the user id thingys you were on about gonna be done in binary?
(, Sun 29 Sep 2002, 18:40, archived)
# what
are you on, bananaman? (though that would be quite nice... :)
i'll do my best to get it out by 01102002. that just leaves the rest of tonight and tomorrow night (lectures on tuesday until 9). but maybe i'll just put it up very quietly so the nerds don't break it in its fragile infancy.

# I hear ya - Hold back the blanket coverage and publicity stunts
for a few weeks, let the site get a solid foothold first.
Good idea!

# did you have
any publicity stunts in mind? that sounds like fun.

# Well a herd is a nice image
and ppl love stories with a good picture.
We could maybe define a new look for 'nerds' not a trainpspotter type stereotype, and get a herd of them in some strange places - maybe like Crab Bloke round London with the big crab on his head we could do things that to ppl present seing each one would seem strange but to ppl seeing them all in context together (on the net at www.herdofnerds.com) it would make sense, so give out cards saying "If you want to make sense of something - ask a nerd"

# i can't quite visualise
this 'new look nerd'. got any pictures? it's herdofnerds.net, incidentally

# doh!
cancel the t-shirts! or just put an order in for a lot of stickers with .net on them. I think modern nerds wear Weebl & Bob T-Shirts.
