# Is that a word with a meaning?
or just something freddie liked the sound of?

# Yes, and yes.
Scaramouche is a buffoon in italian pantomime, so he could conceivably do the fandango.
The other difficult one to get is "bizmillah" (will you let me go) which is an arabic exclamation meaning "in the name of god".

# thanks for clearing that up

"The BBC reports that a truncated version of Queen's greatest-hits album has been released in Iran. Lead singer Freddie Mercury, who died in 1991, was of Iranian descent. According to the report, the album notes explain that the song Bohemian Rhapsody "is about a young man who has accidentally killed someone and, like Faust, sold his soul to the devil. On the night before his execution he calls God in Arabic, 'Bismillah', and so regains his soul from Satan."
