noI don't think the spider managed to bite him, thankfully. I stayed up with him for another couple of hours just to make sure (only got to bed at 4am.. eek).
I'm not sure if I told you but it turned out to be a tarantula :)

Not massivearound 3 - 4 inches across probably.
