well..
"Ginger" was the codename of Segway (that standy uppy scooter thing).
Before it was known that it's codename was "Ginger" it was just known as "IT" (when all we knew about IT was that it was so revolutionary that it'd force people to redesign cities around it!)

For all the logic in the world - that was one hell of a leap from (IT) to

Although now the thinking is that
'IT' or 'ginger' isn't the segway at all.
Dean Kamen said at the time that 'IT' would change the way people designed cities. The Segway certainly wouldn't do that, it was designed to work with a city's geography the way it is at the mo....
