So, none of game coding graphical bits of C++ then
although I wouldn't be able to code in C++ as it all looks like geek to me. I learnt Pascal at college some umpteen years ago but nothing interesting just a program to pick out all the prime numbers upto whatever the imput number was. And other rubbish things like that.

i tried teaching myself C++
but anything i used it for, felt like using a fucking huge, complex, crazy, trippy sledgehammer to crack an acorn

you mean you tried Visual C++? ;)
C++ is only really useful (in my opinion) when you get a load of standard libraries, but then you may as well use Java instead
no point re-inventing the wheel every time
