# Very good.
I like that film too, though I think I'm the only one that does sometimes.

# If you're an alien and your weakness is water would you
invade a planet which a) is covered predominantly by water and b) is prone to the odd drop of rain?

so far as I know

Aliens must be stupid.

# What have the Triffids got to do with weaknesses to water?
Can I just point out that in the Day of the Triffids, they actually won?

# The film wasn't so much about aliens anyway.

# I think they missed a great opportunity there.
Had it been me, I would have made the aliens susceptible to alcohol, not water. Then I would have made Mel Gibson's character a drunk who was mourning his wife, and who was in the habit of leaving glasses with melted ice and a little booze in them everywhere, as well as bottles of whiskey or something. Then when the big scene at the end came, he would have not only been defeating the aliens, but his own addiction as well.

But that's just how I would have written it.
