An interesting point (and yes i have seen gattaca)But as for space travel etc; i really dont think mankind will do it for centuries and centuries. Theres no profit in going to the moon or mars (fuck, i wish it wasnt true).
Also, a situation like gattaca is unlikely - western society tends to leap at the first sign of descrimination to prevent it (these days anyway).
