MAXX P4 2400 with Soundblaster Audigy [Drool]. Just out of my price range, but a few bank jobs and a night down the dogs should sort that out...

cheaper yourself.
look in all the pc mags at the moment (PC PLUS has one in this month) and they will tell you what you need to put a machine together properly.
if you want a serious sound card for music making i suggest that you take a look at this or for the cheaper option try the STAudio DSP24V from here

The Soundblaster cards although quite nice for gaming aren't really a patch on most of the proper audio cards - your much better off buying something designed primarily for music rather then gaming.
