i sort of got the serious thing as well.its not stritctly postmodern in the sense of just being bold and random to take the piss out of modernism.

Possibly the difficulty of identifying with a sharkrelates to the "impossibility of death in the mind".
I notice that it doesn't work at all without the title to hint at an explanation. Maybe it would be good if a whole bunch of conceptual artists gave different titles to the same object. Would save space and money. Bargain.
